It says people don't like it when you talk to them with your weapons drawn. So I unequipped all of my weapons but my character still has her fist drawn. How do I make her put her fists down? I'm playing on PC.How do I disarm myself in The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion?
I'm not sure what the key is, but it will be on the back of your manual, but there is a button that will sheathe your weapon. You do not need to unequip the weapon, just make sure that it's put away.
What they mean by that is that any person that you talk to with your weapon drawn takes a 10 point hit to their disposition.

Is there anyway to avoid vampirism in elder scrolls oblivion?
My friend told me he made it to like lvl 14 without being infected and i just got the disease and im only lvl 4 and i have been looking for the soul gems needed for like a week strait now and im fed up...i was thinking of starting a new game..and if i do is there anyway i can avoid becoming a vampire?Is there anyway to avoid vampirism in elder scrolls oblivion?

I experienced the same problem you did and I restarted the game, though I restarted for other reasons. You must have gone into a vampire cave and fought vampires. The truth is that it is actually very easy to avoid turning into a vampire. Some people actually enjoy turning into a vampire because you become very powerful.
To understand how to avoid turning into a vampire, let's talk about how to turn into a vampire. In Oblivion, vampirism is really a symptom of a disease called: Porphyric Hemophilia. You contract this disease when bitten by a vampire and that usually happens after you fought a vampire and he/she wounded you. Then after you contracted the disease, it takes 3 full days and sleeping for you to actually develop into a vampire (to have the symptom). That is also when you have a nightmare. In fact, you do not turn into a vampire even after three full days if you have not slept.
To avoid turning into a vampire, you do the opposite, make sure you check your status after fighting a vampire. If "Porphyric Hemophilia" appear as one of your conditions, then cure it within 3 days -- which is a lot of time. It is very easy. You can cure it like any other diseases. You can either drink a "Cure Disease" potion or spell or simply go to the temple and pray: receive blessing. After three days, however, you will turn into a real vampire (after sleep) and that become much tougher to cure, but still possible. Now, you have to go on a mission called "Til Death Do They Part" to turn yourself back to normal.

Ok if you have more than one soul gem drop it until you have one. Go to the scroll in your inventory press A two times on the scroll, and now go to your soul gem in your inventory and drop it, and now it's cloned, and you should be droping two of them soul gems.
You can repete this.

I'm a spellweaver and mostly use shield/longsword + some touch destruction spells when fighting.
And I also have a char who's more of a stealthy rouge/wizardish type.
So if you could provide me with some nice ways (moves, combos, tactics etc) on how to obliterate my foes efficiently, I would be very grateful.Could someone please give me some advanced combat tips for Elder Scrolls Oblivion?
Since you're into stealth, illusion is definitely a good skill for you to have. You can get invisibility and sneak up on your enemies with a longsword (power hit). With illusion you can also paralyze and then pump them full of destruction spells. Basically... improvise on some stealthy approaches, see what you can come up with.

Well I could think of many real life examples... but the problem with oblivion is you can freeze a guy then cast a fireball on him and it won't change the effectiveness of the spell. Because of the freedom Bethesda has given us it has also limited the realism of the game. Hence, combos are non-existent.
The best way to play as a stealthy character is to use poison on your weapons. If you have a bow, just find/make a lot of poison for long-range assassinations. For spells, illusion spells such as invisible or chameleon are good, but a full set of enchanted chameleon armor is even better! ;-)

I cannot give you a straight answer but I hope it is a combination of the two because I bought morrowind recently and liked it a little bit more than oblivion. Although oblivions quest gave better ways to travel for quests.Will the new elder scrolls game be more like morrowind or oblivion?
Hopefully the best of both worlds =) loved Morrowind and Oblivion. The superior graphics of Oblivion, the mount system ( Will it extend to dragons, be removed or left as it is???), plus the game play of Morrowind (Maybe they'll reintroduce werewolves?)
I cannot give you a straight answer but I hope it is a combination of the two because I bought morrowind recently and liked it a little bit more than oblivion. Although oblivions quest gave better ways to travel for quests.Will the new elder scrolls game be more like morrowind or oblivion?
Hopefully the best of both worlds =) loved Morrowind and Oblivion. The superior graphics of Oblivion, the mount system ( Will it extend to dragons, be removed or left as it is???), plus the game play of Morrowind (Maybe they'll reintroduce werewolves?)

IGN posted that this is a bug in the game and that you should update the game thru xbox live in order to fix BUG. I went and updated game on Xbox Live and still the levers don't work in Mascarand. Even though there are tons of side quests and lots of things to do in the game, will trying to follow the main objective be easy. Oblivion was the only game to actually interest me enough for me to play for months on end besides Fable 1.
It was great and I played it throughout much of 2007. It was the only game I played. I know sounds wierd but I was really hooked and had little time so I only played that. I put about 350 hours into that game(about an hour per day; I know I'm pathetic :) ). Even though there are tons of side quests and lots of things to do in the game, will trying to follow the main objective be easy. And green map markers even pointed the way u should go to reach the next objective. I was 12 when I first played Oblivion and it was incredibly easy to follow any quests....especially the main quest.
I'm sure they have designed Skyrim to be clear with detailled directions to follow also. And even if they haven't, there are always walkthroughs which basically lead u by the hand and tell u every little thing to do to reach any objective. Question about fallout elder scrolls and the ps3?
Okay, so i love fallout and elder scrolls. Only problem? fallout on ps3 is so massive that it has freezing issues. I actually have two questions. 1. Does having to hit the power button on the console after a hard freeze damage my console? 2. Someone told me that massive games like these damage the console with continuous play because of the needed processingm power. it this true? Bethesda does a good job at helping new players learn about the elder scrolls universe. They assume that the people who play their games are new and build a game toward that. Although the story is separate between all games, I would highly recommend playing the previous games, Oblivion in particular. This will not only help you understand how the game works, but it was also a very good game.
You don't need to play them but the games are so open and expansive that it's probably a good idea to at least watch some videos on them just so you can get a good idea of how an Elder Scrolls game is played because they tend to be different than most RPGs in that you can pretty much go anywhere and pretty much do anything. the games are connected becasue they take place in the same realm, or universe but they are completely different stories that do not connect directly, so you do not have to play the others like oblivion or morrowind but they might give you a slight better understanding of the game but they are completley different stories.

What are some games similar to The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion?
I'm a big fan of oblivion. What are some games that have the same style ( I guess I'd call it open ended) and the same time period? Like, it would still have swords and magic and such.What are some games similar to The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion?
U might like "Fable" It's not quite as open ended as Oblivion, but it's still a fun game.
Dragon Age is another. I couldn't get into it, but yet it is very popular. U might like it.
Two Worlds 2 is another sword and shield type game. I haven't played it either.
U could go back a bit and play Morrowind. It was the Elder Scrolls game before Oblivion. It's a little harder than Oblivion, but it's a good game.
Then of course there is Skyrim which will be available this coming November.
I almost forgot "Nehrim" This technically a mod for Oblivion...which means u must have Oblivion installed in order to run Nehrim. But Nehrim is a totally complete game of its own and not related to Elder Scrolls except that it is also a sword and shield type game.

Fallout New Vegas game is amazing. While some may say it is simply an expansion of Fallout 3, I tend to disagree. The sheer amount of new material and story line's create a dozen games in one title. New Vegas has dozens of paths to go down and dozens of endings to each of those paths, making it one of the most enjoyable and replayable RPGs of our generation.

U might like "Fable" It's not quite as open ended as Oblivion, but it's still a fun game.
Dragon Age is another. I couldn't get into it, but yet it is very popular. U might like it.
Two Worlds 2 is another sword and shield type game. I haven't played it either.
U could go back a bit and play Morrowind. It was the Elder Scrolls game before Oblivion. It's a little harder than Oblivion, but it's a good game.
Then of course there is Skyrim which will be available this coming November.
I almost forgot "Nehrim" This technically a mod for Oblivion...which means u must have Oblivion installed in order to run Nehrim. But Nehrim is a totally complete game of its own and not related to Elder Scrolls except that it is also a sword and shield type game.

Fallout New Vegas game is amazing. While some may say it is simply an expansion of Fallout 3, I tend to disagree. The sheer amount of new material and story line's create a dozen games in one title. New Vegas has dozens of paths to go down and dozens of endings to each of those paths, making it one of the most enjoyable and replayable RPGs of our generation.

What is the best build for making a Necromancer in Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion?
I want to make the most bad *** sword wielding necromancer of evil there is, but I'm not sure what's best as my birth sign, race, or class build. I know that to actually bring people back to life isn't possible in the game w/o the Staff Of Worms, but I can easily get that. Ok, I'm give you my best advice on a Necromancer build, for the 360.
Race-
1. Dark Elf because they look evil and they start with a 10+ in destruction 10+ in Blade, there ancestral summon is useless after level 5, however.

Shortest review I can: The game is absolutely awesome, the world is massive and the graphics are pretty great. Sometimes I find myself stopping just to look at stuff. The gameplay is very diverse now and you can do so much that it almost feels like too much! It's fun and strategic when you want it to be. Ehemm werewolves and vampires! The game personally is amazing , just make sure you got tons a of time on your hands and be prepared to become the game for months! ;)

I hear the main story was like 30 hours. But then that's that. Nobody plays this game by running straight to its main story. If you craft/enchant or w/e , talk to people , do side quests and exploration you're in for a long run. Hundreds of hours easily. If your into searching every nook and cranny then you're in for insanity.
The replay value depends on what you did in the first run. Whichever place you did not explore , quests you did not do etc etc. There's also the new play style thing. I mean say you played a mage you can replay as a warrior or thief.
Review :
The good : - Oblivion version 2011 with better graphics.
- Batshit crazy amount of content.
The bad : - i don't like the spell/item selection menu. In oblivion you could swap up to 8 spells using only two buttons.
In Skyrim you need to : (console)
1 : open favorites menu
2 : scroll to wanted spell
3 : click spell
4 : close favorites menu
5 : Wait a second or two until character holsters weapons and gets the spell ready
6 : cast spell
7 : open favorites menu
8 : scroll to weapon
9 : select weapon
10 : close favorites menu
11 : wait the weapon to be drawn
12 : err , so yeah , fight.
So yeah you're always stuck pausing the game. no flow. You can only hotkey two things and it doesn't work all that well.
If you hate the favorites menu : 7/10

I've been an Elder Scrolls fan since the beginning as well as a fan of a lot of other games. This is by far the greatest game i've ever played. It has over 300 hours of game play time and you can customize your life in the game to whatever you want it to be. You can dive head first into the main plot line and slay dragons and trolls and become the strongest warrior, the most powerful wizard, or the best thief in all the land! Or you can settle down with a family, do some regular everyday work to make some cash, and just live as a commoner.
One of the really cool aspects about this game is that no matter what race you pick, although they will start out with certain specialties, you can become anything you want. For instance, typically Orcs are made to be ruthless warriors that will go berserk and chop your head off on sight. Orcs will undoubtedly come with an inclination to two handed weapons and heavy armor, but you can easily make a thief, assassin, or mage out of them so long as you work on those certain skills due to the new dynamic leveling system.
One point that is ALWAYS necessary to make is that you can become a Vampire or a Werewolf! Both of them have their perks and downsides. Let's start with the Vampires. A lot of people will see this as a curse. And according to the game it is. But really, if you know how to use it, it can be a really beneficial thing to your character. You get all kinds of spell bonuses and resistances that can help you immensley in your quests. The main downfall to being a Vampire is your weakness in the sun, which isn't actually THAT bad until you get to the last stage of Vampirism; which you can keep at bay by simply feeding regularly. Then there's Werewolves! I personally love being a Werewolf. The one and only downside to being one is that you don't get a sleep bonus anymore. That's it. But the gains are phenominal! You can CHOOSE when you want to change (only once per day of course), and when you do, you have incredible strength, speed, stamina, and you are virtually indestructible! You can sustain your transformation by feeding while in that state, but you are not required to do so to fit into society like you are with Vampirism. Oh and one more thing, while you are transformed, you have a weakness to silver; but all of your stats go back to normal when you return to your normal state.
I love this game and would recommend it to anyone who likes RPGs. You'll never look at RPGs the same after getting into the Elder Scrolls games. I hope that i answered to your satisfaction :) thank you for asking, and thank you for reading my input.
well i've heard skyrim has over 300 hours of gameplay and well thats pretty ***** long for a open world rpg game, and its kinda like runescape only 3d and much much better, you can play as pretty much anyone or thing, theres monsters of just about every kind and well the series has been very successful, the graphics are pretty damn good, gameplay is fun with funny ragdoll physics and yeah.. just get the game its fun! but overall I find that assassins creed brotherood has really good replay potential, played it 6 times over and still liking it. skyrim will probs make alot of people **** in pantsHow long is the new elder scrolls skyrim game and has it got any replay potential?

What is the best assassin character for The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion?
I kind of what the ultimate assassin. I was wondering what class, race, and birth sign i should chose. Also should i join the thieves guild if i am a freelance assassin? What is the best assassin character for The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion?
There's really no such thing as a "perfect" or "ultimate" character; it depends on your preference and what PC you will enjoy playing most. That said, there are some general tips on creating an assassin or thief:
* Race - Probably the 'best' races to choose from for an assassin would be Bosmer (any gender), Khajiit (female), Argonian (male) or Dunmer (any gender). These races have abilities that could come in handy for an assassin and have stats that focus on speed and/or agility.
* Class - You could choose one of the pre-made classes for your assassin. However, most often these classes fall short. I suggest you create a Custom Class with Agility and Speed as the primary Attributes. You should choose your seven major skills from Alchemy, Alteration, Armorer, Blade, Illusion, Light Armor, Marksman, Mercantile, Sneak or Speechcraft. Note: Only choose Alteration if you don't like playing the lockpicking minigame, as this school has the "Open" spells.
* Birthsign - Most Birthsigns could be good, though I'd choose from Thief, Shadow or The Steed.
The above tips will get you started on creating a powerful assassin. Personally, I would join the Thieves Guild (to get rid of any stolen loot) and the Mages Guild (to be able to create your own spells and enchanted items). Even though you'll be freelance, you should also consider joining the Dark Brotherhood, as you can get some very useful gear for an assassin.
Here's the build for my assassin (now at Level 27):
Race - Female Khajiit
Class - Custom Class (Shadowstalker)
Attributes - Agility and Speed
Birthsign - The Thief
Major Skills - Alchemy, Armorer, Blade, Illusion, Light Armor, Marksman and Sneak
I've had several builds for an assassin character. The earlier ones had Mercantile and Speechcraft in place of Armorer and Blade. I'm happier with this build, though. Alchemy lets me create crippling poisons and useful potions. At Journeyman level, Armorer allows me to repair my magical gear (like my enchanted bows and swords). Blade, Light Armor, Marksman and Sneak are self-explanatory. There's really no such thing as a "perfect" or "ultimate" character; it depends on your preference and what PC you will enjoy playing most. That said, there are some general tips on creating an assassin or thief:
* Race - Probably the 'best' races to choose from for an assassin would be Bosmer (any gender), Khajiit (female), Argonian (male) or Dunmer (any gender). These races have abilities that could come in handy for an assassin and have stats that focus on speed and/or agility.
* Class - You could choose one of the pre-made classes for your assassin. However, most often these classes fall short. I suggest you create a Custom Class with Agility and Speed as the primary Attributes. You should choose your seven major skills from Alchemy, Alteration, Armorer, Blade, Illusion, Light Armor, Marksman, Mercantile, Sneak or Speechcraft. Note: Only choose Alteration if you don't like playing the lockpicking minigame, as this school has the "Open" spells.
* Birthsign - Most Birthsigns could be good, though I'd choose from Thief, Shadow or The Steed.
The above tips will get you started on creating a powerful assassin. Personally, I would join the Thieves Guild (to get rid of any stolen loot) and the Mages Guild (to be able to create your own spells and enchanted items). Even though you'll be freelance, you should also consider joining the Dark Brotherhood, as you can get some very useful gear for an assassin.
Here's the build for my assassin (now at Level 27):
Race - Female Khajiit
Class - Custom Class (Shadowstalker)
Attributes - Agility and Speed
Birthsign - The Thief
Major Skills - Alchemy, Armorer, Blade, Illusion, Light Armor, Marksman and Sneak
I've had several builds for an assassin character. The earlier ones had Mercantile and Speechcraft in place of Armorer and Blade. I'm happier with this build, though. Alchemy lets me create crippling poisons and useful potions. At Journeyman level, Armorer allows me to repair my magical gear (like my enchanted bows and swords). Buy the GOTY edition. it comes with 2 expansions that could cost $20 on their own. If the GOTY edition costs less then the original the definetly buy GOTY. There is no way you can get bored with the game. The game is a lot more expansive then it seems. Check the tech specs to make sure u can run the game. If it runs slow then go into the settings and turn off the extra shadows and stuff u don't need.

First, install Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine on your 360(You probably already did this). For the Knights of the Nine you go to Anvil and you go up to almost anybody there and select the "Prophet" topic and they talk about a prophet guy and then click on the "Anvil chapel attack" topic and you should get a quest. Activate it and it will show you where to go on the map.
for knights of nine, go to the westernmost city, near the church, you should find someone like a beggar proclaiming that the end is near. Everyone in town should call him crazy. Talk to him and answer that you are not the hero or something like that.

I have oblivion on Steam and it keeps crashing and i have a feeling its because of some game data i have. You can buy knights of the nine and shivering isles from xbox live, but they are a rip off. I don't think the collector's edition has the same as game of the year, so yeah you're going to have to fight on ebay, but i could be wrong.

You can buy knights of the nine and shivering isles from xbox live, but they are a rip off. I don't think the collector's edition has the same as game of the year, so yeah you're going to have to fight on ebay, but i could be wrong.
I think GotY addition has all of the DLC whilst CE only has the DLC TSI, I'm not completely sure though...

This is what I did.
Sold all the weapons/armor/potions/jewelry/etc. from corpses.
I joined the Mage guild, took all the apparatus and sold them right back to them (don't take anything that has a red hand)
I did the same with weapons in the Fighters Guild
I joined all three guilds, the Dark Brotherhood, and was a gladiator at the arena, finished them all (as a level 10, hardly ever slept always waited), and before I knew it I had earned nearly 200,000 without any cheats (don't think there are any for ps3 anyways)
My secret weapon,..... summon clannfear (greatest pet ever)

You could try making potions and selling items from the mage's guild.Pick the locks on the weapon cases that don't have a red cursor on it.Take the items and sell them to a nearby store for a large dosh of money.Try closing Oblivion Gates and enchanting armor with the sigal stones and sell the armor(you could keep it if you like the enchantment).Go to guild libraries and take rare books(plays and used skill books)and sell them to a book store.

You won't get too much money until you get to higher levels. Try the Arena, there's some good money to be made there, even at low levels.

It doesn't make much difference. People address you as 'Dunmer' but you're still an outlander, so people treat you much the same as if you were one of the other races.

you need the wizards tower add-on. then go to the living quarters and go to the plants from oblivion (its the most reliable spot i hear). save your game then go to the xbox dashboard. go to the memory tab and go to games and erase the wizards tower. play oblivion and load your save game from within the wizards tower tower. a message will pop-up and say something about missing data. click okay or whatever and when it loads you will be in a room. head out the door and you will be in a clearing with a giant fire pit in the center. go to the fire and on your right theres the mace of doom.

I believe if you go to Castle Skingrad after you give one of your vampire cures to the Count (the one who's wife is a vampire and needs the cure so she can die). Go back to him after you cure her, he will give you 2500 gold. You can keep clicking on "reward" and get as much gold as your fingers can handle. I was finally tired and got over 3 million gold. You can always go back to him and get more.
You might have to go into the castle, up the stairs and into his private quarters. I had to unlock the door to his bedroom then I woke him up and immediately talked to him before he got me for trespassing. When the screen comes up asking you what you want to talk about, click on reward and rake in the gold!
I like the arena. You can make a LOT of money doing it at first, and you don't have to be very strong to beat it. Also, get alchemy up and collect every plant you see and you can make thousands off that alone. If you kill him, you can repeatedly loot his corpse for gold, and the gold never disappears from his body. You can keep doing this until eventually after a few days his body disappears. (If you clear the hard drive cache on the XBox, by holding A as the game boots, his body will no longer be there). When collecting the gold, do not select "Take All" or the game may freeze.
The amount of gold that he initially has is random. To increase the amount of gold on his corpse, you can spend time bribing him before killing him. Repeatedly bribe him until his disposition has reached its maximum. To add even more gold, attack him then yield, and start over again.
If you are a stealth-oriented character or are just quick with a blade, weapon or spell, you can quickly kill Dorian without the alerting guards.
